A Panchayat is a collective body of elected representatives chosen to manage the administrative affairs of Panchayat Raj institutions. In the case of a Grama Panchayat, it is the primary committee that implements the decisions of the Grama Sabha and handles day-to-day governance.The main components of a Panchayat are:President: The head of the Panchayat. They preside over meetings and oversee the overall functioning of the Panchayat.Vice President: Discharges the duties of the President in their absence.Ward Members: Elected representatives from each ward within the Panchayat.Standing Committees: Sub-committees formed to facilitate easier decision-making in specific areas such as finance, development, welfare, health, and education.
